Hi  

I am Terrie Kalaputas, the designer and creator of Terries Bears.

I live in Alberta, Canada with my very supportive husband, 2 children in their early 20's and 2 cats. Their love, support and encouraging comments provide me with creative inspiration. 

I am a self taught bear and doll artist and have been creative my whole life. I started making bears and dolls for my children while they were small. When they outgrew playing with then, I started making collectibles.

In 2004, I made my first miniature bear and was instantly addicted to minis and the challenges that they present. I enjoy all aspects of bear making from the first tiny stitch to the creation of a new personality. Currently, I am making more minis than large bears.

I worked as a floral designer for 18 years and thoroughly enjoyed this job because it allowed me to be creative every day. Now, when I am not making bears, I love to garden.  

My bears have been featured in the magazines Teddy Bear & Friends and Teddy Bear Review. I was thrilled and honored to have one of my bears "Snazzy" chosen as a 2007 TOBY Industry Choice Award winner. Terrie Bears have been adopted  to homes all over the world.

I feel very blessed to be able to pursue my love of creating artist bears and dolls and I am delighted when they go to homes where they are loved.
